A cartoon exhibition about climate change with the title “Facing the Climate” was launched at Hoa Sen University on March 22.
The exhibition was organised by the Swedish Institute in co-operation with the Embassy of Sweden and Manzi.
Twenty-seven works of 10 Vietnamese and Swedish cartoonists were displayed at the exhibition at the university’s G lobby. It is open for free and will close on March 29.
Each painting blends humour and satire about climate change, and conveys warnings about the situation in Việt Nam and the world.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Gustav Dahlin, second secretary at the Embassy of Sweden, said that climate change is not a problem of the future. This is a problem of the generation now. What Việt Nam is experiencing now are the consequences caused by climate change.
Dahlin also spoke about the severe drought in Mekong Delta and Central Highlands.
“Climate change can no longer be omitted from the conversation and action can no longer be delayed,” he said.
