On March 18, 2013 the Phan Chau Trinh Cultural Foundation announced the list of winners of the 6th Annual Phan Chau Trinh Cultural Prize.
The announcement of the 2012 annual prizes included awards for: Cultural and Educational Causes, Translation, Research, and Vietnam Studies. The announcement was held on the 3rd-floor hall, VUSTA, 53, Nguyen Du St., Hai Ba Trung Dist., Hanoi.
The prize for Cultural and Educational Causes was awarded to Dr. Bui Tran Phuong, President of Hoa Sen University and Mr Vu Duc Hieu, Director of the Museum of Cultural Space Of Muong People; the Translation prize was awarded to Mr Chu Tien Anh, and Mr Pham Duy Hien (pseudonym: Pham Nguyen Truong); the Research prize was awarded to historian Le Thanh Khoi; and the Vietnam Studies prize to Philippe Langlet, a French scholar specializing in studying the country of Vietnam and its people.

The Phan Chau Trinh Cultural Foundation – its previous name, the Phan Chau Trinh Translation Foundation – was founded in January, 2007 and has carried its current name since 2008. In addition to sponsoring and supporting the translation of works under the project named Bookcase of World Elite Intellectuals, this Foundation has various cultural operations, particularly for encouraging and honoring exceptional cultural research and introducing cultural values of Vietnam and the world. The Cultural Prize system of the Phan Chau Trinh Cultural Foundation also awards the four prizes awarded annually on a periodic and irregular basis which are given to educational and cultural workers, scientists and translators at home and abroad.
During the five recent periods of awarding prizes, (2007-2011), the Foundation graciously honored many translators, scientists, and cultural researchers at home and abroad including: Bui Van Nam Son, Le Hong Sam, Nguyen Dinh Dau, David Marr, Ho Ngoc Dai, G. Condomonas, Hoang Tuy, Kevin Bowen, Nguyen Su, Nguyen Van Khoa, and Alain Ruscio.
The awards ceremony for the 6th Phan Chau Trinh Cultural Prize - 2012 will be held at 19:00, on March 29, 2013 at the Sunflower Hall (1st floor), REX Hotel, 141, Nguyen Hue St., Dist. 1, HCM City.
